Unfortunately Kelly is moving back over Offa's Dyke but they have involved another popular member of staff - Nia Jones. They plan to buy Kelly a farewell present.

Interact status has been confirmed for the year 2016/17 and a copy of the register sent to Kelly Ash at Ysgol Gyfun Aberaeron where she co-ordinating and assisting with the Club's activities.

Kelly is doing an outstanding job with the Interact Club. They are organising "Shoeboxes", collecting spectacles and primarily mobile phones. They are alo still collecting used ink cartridges. There is a quiz being organised in November. There will be another Easter Egg Hunt and they want to arrange a Summer Ball - or something along those lines. Kelly will provide us with the exact dates and details.

There are now 20 members.

We will be sponsoring a youth exchange to Canada. A Year 10 pupil in the school which will be at no cost to Club.  The parents of the pupil concerned are to be interviewed.

The Club has been very active through the year.

Wedneday 3rd December, 2015, Interact held a quiz at Aberaeron Yacht Club to raise funds towards the Garden Project of the Special Needs Unit at Ysgol Gyfun Aberaeron. The event was very well supported by 13 local teams. The Interact Club were also supported by local businesses with prizes for the raffle. Prizes for the winning team were supplied by the Rotary Club of Aberaeron. It may have been prophetic but Rotary Club of Aberaeron won. The evening and raffle raised 260.00 and a cheque was presented during a school assembly.

On the afternoon/evening of Saturday 6th December, 2014, members of the Interact Club attended t theAberaeron Community Christmas event held on Pwll Cam, Market Street, Aberaeron. That marshalled the queque for the children waiting to see Father Christmas. A cool but dry day.

On the evening of Wednesday 28th January, 2015 three members of Interact entered the Area English Youth Speaks Competition, seniors section, sponsored by Aberaeron Rotary Club. The team was made up of Chairperson Jessica Clemas; Speaker Olivia Jones: and Vote of Thanks Michelle Rafferty. The team stepped in at short notice as others were not available due to the school Eisteddfod. The Competition proved to be very close and, after long deliberation, Ysgol Henry Richards, Tregaron were announced as the winners to go forward to the next round. Michelle Rafferty was announced as the best entrant giving the vote of thanks.

The school had been in possession of an Aqua box, that required filling. With the assistance of the Cub Group in Llanarth, the Interactors have overseen the filling of the box.

Interactors, especally Amelia Jones, have been the main support to the Meals on Wheels delivery on Thursdays along with members of the Rotary Club of Aberaeron.

At a future date (unknown at present) the Interact Club has arranged to help pack bags, at Morrisons Supermarket in Aberystwyth, in aid of a children's charity. They have had permission from the school to do this during a school day. They are also commencing to collect glasses and mobile phones.

COLLECTION FOR "GO FELIX"

The collection and bag pack at Morrisons Supermarket, Aberystwyth raised a total of 470.00 for a charity "Go Felix". A long day for all the Interactors and for a very good cause.

Felix is a very happy and cheeky 22month old with a very rare genetic brain disorder called Lissencephaly and Miller-Dieker Syndrome.  Lissencepahly literally translates to smooth brain meaning that during pregnancy his brain didnt fully develop the full six layers a normal functioning brain has, but instead has only four. This condition impacts in ways many of us take for granted, like swallowing food for example or even holding up your own head.

28/10/2015

Past officers from 2014/15 have moved on to further Education and we wish them luck in their chosen subjects and onward on their career path.

There are presently 23 members of Interact and they have organised another Quiz Night to raise funds for Ceredigion St John to be held at Aberaeron Yacht Club on Wednesday 25th November, 2015.

They are still collecting old mobile phones, used printer cartridges, spectacles and filling shoeboxes for the Rotary International shoebox appeal.
