President Bill Deans welcomed ten other members. He announced that the joint Burns Night with the Helensburgh Garelochside club at the Rosslea Hall Hotel, Rhu, had been moved from Monday January 26 to Tuesday January 27, and an attendance sheet will be circulated next Tuesday.
He said that, as part of a District 1230 venture, the club was helping to sponsor the 2015 Scottish Schools Indoor Athletics Championships at Glasgow's Emirates Stadium on Wednesday and Thursday February 4 and 5, and a press release about this has been issued. District plans to borrow the club banner and the club's two pop-up banners for the stadium display.
The Secretary conducted the Special General Meeting. Bill Jones was elected President-Elect 2015/16 and President 2016/17; a candidate for Junior Vice-President 2015/16 is being sought; Donald Fullarton and Lesley Kennedy were elected respectively Secretary and Treasurer 2015/16; the President and Senior Vice-President were elected Voting Delegates to the Rotary GB&I Annual Conference, with the Secretary and Junior Vice-President as deputies; and it was agreed not to elect a nominee for Rotary GB&I President 2015/16 but to allow the voting delegates to vote according to conscience.
The Club Accounts to June 30 2014 were adopted unanimously.
The monthly raffle, this time for a bottle of 12 year-old Highland Park single malt whisky, was won by Graham Smith, while the weekly raffle for a whisky miniature was won by Dave Campbell.
