Club Meeting 1pm — Board Minutes

Tue, Feb 3rd 2015 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

The Secretary read the Board Minutes.

President Bill Deans welcomed 13 other members. He reported that the joint Burns Night with the Garelochside club in the Rosslea Hall Hotel at Rhu last Tuesday, with eight representing this club, was a very pleasant evening, and in particular some girls from Cardross Primary School gave excellent verse and singing performances.

Youth Service convener Adam Muggoch reported that the Helensburgh heat winner for the past four years, Abigail Scott, did not progress beyond the District 1230 final of the Young Chef of the Year competition. She will be too old to enter the next competition.

The first Young Baker competition, a club venture, will be held at Hermitage Academy later today and there are 15 finalists. The club has two qualifiers for the District 1230 Young Musician final to be held in Glasgow's Royal Conservatoire of Scotland all day on Saturday, with vocalists in the morning and instrumentalists in the afternoon.

After the Secretary read the Board Minutes, the monthly raffle, this time for a bottle of The MacAllan Gold Highland single malt whisky, was won by Gordon Burgess, while the weekly raffle for a whisky miniature was both drawn and won by Lesley Kennedy.
