Club Meeting 1pm - No speaker

Tue, Apr 28th 2015 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

No speaker.

President Bill Deans welcomed 13 other members, including Denis Taylor who thanked the club for the card sent with condolences following the recent death of his partner. Members were pleased to hear that Derek Hall was now home and recovering from his heart attack a week ago.

Community service convener Bill Jones reported on the interviews of four candidates for the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards scheme, held at Centre 81 in Garelochhead the previous evening. He commended all four, but said that an outstanding girl and boy had been selected for the two remaining places, the club having already selected a 15 year-old girl in Helensburgh.

The president reported on a very successful four day visit to Barcelona which, he said, was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. He thanked Alastair Wilson for stepping into the breach and leading the group, following Derek's withdrawal.

In view of a lack of outstanding business, it was agreed to cancel the Board meeting scheduled for the evening, but it was noted that the club's can collection at the Co-op is scheduled for Saturday May 9.

The weekly raffle for a whisky miniature was won by Adam Muggoch.
