Club Meeting 1pm, followed by AGM

Tue, Jun 9th 2015 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

The AGM followed lunch.

President Bill Deans welcomed twelve other members and a guest, retiring Assistant District Governor Jimmy Johnston, who brought greetings from District 1230 and his own club, Glasgow North and Bishopbriggs.

The president indicated that members would be very welcome to attend the Parklands School Summer Cafe on Thursday from 10-11.30am for a Strawberry Tea.

The AGM followed lunch. Conveners Bill Jones, Douglas Dow and Adam Muggoch reported on activities during the year, and Treasurer Lesley Kennedy presented her budget for the year ahead. The proposal to keep the annual subscription at £90 was welcomed — of this £49 goes to Rotary GB&I and £21 to District 1230 — but it was noted that cliub funds were dwindling and some fundraising was needed.

Derek Hall and Alastair Wilson were elected ordinary members of the Board for 2015-16, and David Arthur was re-elected as an honorary member for a further year. Ron Dunachie agreed to continue to serve as Accounts Examiner, and all three conveners accepted re-election. It was noted that Gordon Burgess had agreed to serve as Junior Vice-President for 2015-16.

The 2015-15 President and President-Elect were elected as representatives to the District 1230 Council, with the Secretary and Junior Vice-President as substitutes.

The weekly raffle for a whisky miniature was won by Lesley Kennedy.
