President Bill Deans welcomed ten other members to his final meeting in the chair, when Derek Bowman, Linda Harvey and Phil Hopkinson were re-elected as Associate Members.
Bill said that the past year had been momentous, with the club's 50th anniversary dinner, the presentation of a Paul Harris Fellowship to the only surviving founder member, Gordon Burgess, and now the installation of the club's first lady president, Lesley Kenney.
He thanked the Board and members for their support, and said that he had very much enjoyed his year as president. The big issue remained membership, which would have to be tackled in the future.
He presented the chain of office to Lesley, who in turn presented a past president's jewel and badge to her predecessor. She then installed Bill Jones at senior vice-president. The junior vice-president is now Gordon Burgess.
The weekly raffle for a whisky miniature was won by Ian Mowat, and he made it a double when he won the monthly raffle, this time for a bottle of 12 year-old Highland Park. This is thought to be only the third time the same member has won both raffles on one day.
