Roll the Barrel 2014

The December 2014 Roll the Barrel event took place on Boxing Day.  Once again the weather was kind, relatively warm and, more importantly, no wind. The Flint and Denbigh Hunt arrived and, as always, proved popular with the crowd.

Whilst the horses and dog of the Denbigh and Flint Hunt were still on High Street, the junior races started on Crown Square.  The junior races are timed with the fastest taking part in the finals.  The four  junior champions are

  • junior girls -  Sophie Michael
  • senior girls -  Gethin Williams
  • senior boys -  Thomas Atkinson

The adult races commenced once all evidence of the horses had been swept up!  In one of the heats four brothers took part  Aeron, Arwyn, Osian and Gerwyn Lloyd.  Arwyn won!

Last years champions were successful again this year with Tina Hoyle the Ladies Champion and Gary Madoc-Jones the Men's Champion.  The team champions are Gareth Owen and John Roberts.
