A Special General Meeting to approve club accounts for 2013-14 and elect club officers for 2015-16

The weekly meeting of the Rotary Club of Kirkcaldy was held on January 13th at the Dean Park Hotel. President Brian Munro welcomed 20 members of the club and one guest.

Past President Bryan Tomlinson poignantly supported the terrorism victims in Paris with a grace, in French,  emphasising peace between faiths. President Brian advised the club that a Charity Night has been arranged for March 6th 2015 and this was to be the major fund raising event of the Rotary year.

The main purpose of the meeting was a Special General Meeting of the club. Past President Bill Stewart presented the annual accounts  for approval. The financial situation of the club was healthy and substantial sums had been donated to local and international charities. Further sums had been raised and donated to Rotary charities and Rotary youth projects.

Robert Main, Dallas Mechan, Jack Dempsey and Bill Stewart  were elected to executive posts within the club.

The meeting was closed with the club being advised that the next club meeting, past presidents Day, would be held on January 20th at the dean Park Hotel.
