Rotarian Ian Brown outlined the plans for our ‘On Yer Bike’ Rotary Cycle Event which takes place this Sunday 21st June in support of Prostate Cancer Scotland. With Prostate Cancer claiming the lives of up to 30 men each day in the UK, it's one of the most common male-specific illnesses in the country, and the second biggest killer after lung cancer.
That’s why this Father’s Day (June 21st) The Rotary Club of Kirkcaldy will join thousands of charity supporters from across the UK to get on their bike and take part in the national fundraising effort and biggest cycling event of its kind, the ‘Rotary Ride’.
The Rotary Club of Kirkcaldy is urging members of the public to put on their lycra and join them at The Beveridge Park to take part in their ‘Get on yer bike’ to raise money for Prostate Cancer Scotland
The whole day will start from 10am – 3pm in the park. In the park we will have a Slow Cycle Race on the grass which we will charge a £1 per go, hopefully to encourage all abilities to do this. Also in the Park a lap race mainly for the kids, encouraging up to 8 year olds – 3 laps, Up to 12 year olds – 6 laps and up to 18 year olds 20 laps. We would get them to raise sponsorship and forms are available by following this link or arrive on the day and pay £2 to enter.
