Lowestoft and the Mike Marriott Youth Awards
This annual event was founded some 9 years ago by the late Michael Marriott, a former President of the Rotary Club of Lowestoft and also a local Headmaster. The purpose is to encourage excellence amongst students in local schools, colleges and academies in a range of subjects: performing Arts (Drama), Performing Arts (Music and Dance), Design, Food Technology, Public Speaking, Sport, and Science/Engineering/Maths. In early February, some 30 students participated in interviews and presentations before Panels of Rotarians to find the best student in each category. On Wednesday 4 March was held the annual Michael Marriott Youth Awards evening.
