Inter-Club Bowls Evening at Craig-y-Don Bowling Club

The Craig-y-Don Bowling Club, on the Tuesday 28th July, was again the venue
for the annual inter - club bowls competition for the John Owen Jones shield.
The shield, was presented by Past President John in 1996, to commemorate his
year in office This year  attracted teams of players from Colwyn Bay, Conwy,
Conwy Valley, Llanfairfechan /Penmaenmawr, Rhos on Sea  and Rhyl Rotary Clubs,
as well as the hosts  Excluding the hosts, there were 22 playing visiting
Rotarians.
 When play was over the players and guests repaired to the Queens Hotel for
the usual standing dish of a fish, chips and mushy peas supper. After the
supper, President Alan announced that this year’s winners were Georgina
Llewellyn and Richard Hollis,  from the Llanfairfechan/Penmaenmawr Rotary
Club. He then thanked all those instrumental, Rotarians and guests alike who
had contributed  to making the event a splendid evening of Rotary fellowship
