Mifumi Primary School Uganda - Gala Dinner

A team from Mifumi are visiting Jersey to see our primary schools in operation. This is a farewell evening to raise funds for the continued development of the school.
In 2013, our club made a donation to assist with the feeding programme at this Ugandan primary school. The Jersey Charity, led by Bob Marshall's wife Janet, continues to support the feeding programme and fund top ups for teachers' salaries to attract and retain the best teachers.
Janet says "We have made great progress over the past year by installing a new water supply, electricity, a satellite dish so that the school can communicate with schools in Jersey, along with much else and are currently funding a boarding house for girls and vocational equipment to ensure that youngsters leave with a skill. We will also be providing a small number of bursaries for the brightest children to go on to secondary school."
