Connect Buddies

On Tuesday 8th March, Catherine Pickering from Conwy Connect for Learning Disabilities was the speaker and she talked about ‘Connect Buddies’ which is a service where volunteers buddy up with individuals that have a learning disability to go to events with them such as the theatre, pubs, clubs and music gigs and thus  allow people with a learning disability to lead an active social life.  

Being a buddy will cost volunteers nothing and can be hugely rewarding. How often they are available and for how long is also entirely up to the individual..
