Monifieth Rotary members were involved in various activities at the Medieval Fair on 21st June 2015. A number of members, along with pupils and staff from Monifieth High School took part in a cycle run to raise awareness of pprostate cancer
The Medieval Fair this year moved to a new and larger site where Monifieth Rotary had pitches for Stroke Awareness/Know Your Blood Pressure, a coconut shy and a Shelter Box on display. Three members (Ally Martin, Gordon Liddle and Dan Richterich) took part in a sponsored cycle run along with pupils and staff from Monifieth High School. The run was to raise awareness of prostate cancer as well as raising funds for Prostate Scotland.
Members of Arbroath Rotary joined our members on the return leg from Arbroath.
The new extended venue brought out a large number of the public, despite the rather windy weather. Our coconut shy was well supported - 3 balls for a £1 and one youngster knocked a coconut down with each ball! A significant number of the public had blood pressure checks at our Stroke Awareness tent and there was much interest in the Shelter Box.
A very successful day, where we enjoyed our own participation and all the fun of the fair! There was a stilt walker, a unicyclist, raptor display and many other activities.
