Llandudno Concert
The Rotary Club of Denbigh hosted a very successful Concert at St John’s Church, Llandudno on Saturday the 27th June 2015 with the proceeds allocated to the Nepal Earthquake Fund.
The Concert had been initiated by the late Gwyn Dryhurst Dodd as President of the Denbigh Choir and intended to set a standard for his year of office as President of our Club, it was a pleasure to welcome Gwyn’s widow Angela, together with Geraint, Sian and Angela, to the Concert.
The Concert featured
Kathryn Nash – Mezzo Soprano
The Avon and Somerset Constabulary Male Voice Choir
Denbigh and District Male Voice Choir
The audience of about 165 people were treated to some very fine musical entertainment culminating in a finale by the combined choirs singing
Morte Christe followed by Gwahoddiad.
We were impressed that the guest choir had learnt the Welsh words to sing both Gwahoddiad and Myfanwy.
Thanks to the small handful of Rotarians who volunteered to assist on this evening which resulted in raising a sum just over £700, a handsome tribute to Gwyn D D.
Pictured are the stewards on the night (thanks also to Bryn who prepared and printed an excellent programme).
