Dunrobin Castle Garden Party 2017

.

The 2017 Rotary Charity Garden Party was held as a Mid Summer celebration of the talent and good deeds that make the people of East Sutherland so special.  The castle and its gardens were in fabulous order as the almost 400 guests enthusiastically arrived to enjoy an evening of entertainment and great food and refreshment served up with good company.

Hog Roast, Strawberries and cream and oodles of puddings were the dishes of the day.  The Glenmorangie Distillery served up a delicious summer punch to wash it down while others found the wine tent and jazz band too good to miss.

Entertainment by the Sutherland Schools Pipe Band, Buttons and Bows, the fabulous Jan Trumble Cheerleaders and Dancers, a stunning Jazz Band and a superb demonstration by the Police Dog Handling team were just a part of a fun filled evening.

As always those attending were at their generous best and over £9,000 was donated to the cause producing a net surplus of over £5,000 which the Rotary club almost immediately passed on to the nominated charities being supported that evening.  They are:

The Archie Foundation - £1,000

The Samaritans - £1,000

Reach4Reality - £1,000

Relationships Scotland (Highland) - £1,000

The Police Dependents Trust - £1,000
