"Call My Bluff" Wine Tasting Evening

Wed, Jul 29th 2015 at 7:00 pm -

On Wednesday evening we were treated to a superb event hosted by Sommeliers John Clark and his “assistant” Josephine.

In addition to providing six wines to taste, John and Josephine presented a hilarious ten point guide about how to become a “wine bluffer”, helping any budding wine taster appear like an experienced Sommelier!

The event commenced by splitting into teams of four and John serving a wine to taste. In true “Call My Bluff” style, John and his “assistant”  gave three detailed and convincing descriptions of the wine. Pulling on years of experience, the dining room was then a buzz of discussion (with some serious players utilising John’s “Wine Bluffer” techniques) as teams agreed their choice.

John’s selection of wines was excellent and he posed some real teasers, with the team debates getting louder and more raucous as the evening progressed!!  The winner with six out of six was Mike Bull and his team team of experts - well done, obviously practice makes perfect!

Many thanks to John and Josephine for a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
