An Evening at the Races 2015

Hedge End Breakfast Rotary Club Race Night in support of charities including Countess Mountbatten Hospice

An Evening at the Races

On May the 9th 2015, The Races came to Hedge End when …. Rotarians and their friends spent

the evening at The Hedge End Breakfast Rotary Club Race Night. Held at the 2000 Centre the

event was in support of charities including …………………………………………..

There were 8 races to have a flutter on and the admission charge included an excellent meal of

Fish and Chips delivered by our local chippy. All races were sponsored by supporters and, in

addition, members and their friends had become “owners” and trainers” for the evening. There

were prizes and special rosettes for the winning owners many of whom proudly wore them for the

rest of the proceedings.

Our commentator and MC for the evening was Graham Hunter who, as well as giving us a very

exciting event donated his fee to the charity CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) of which he is an

active supporter.

As well as having a thoroughly enjoyable evening, we raised……. for the charities and President

Andy Grace thanked everyone for their participation in a very worthwhile event.

We plan to run more Race Nights in the future so look out for them on our programme. It is

advisable to book early as this one was very popular and the hall was at full capacity.
