After suffering 46% burns when the Sir Galahad troop carrier was destroyed at Bluff Cove in the Falklands in 1982, Welsh Guardsman Simon Weston overcame his injuries and dedicated his life to charitable work with veteran’s groups and young people’s organisations. Honoured by the Queen and voted The Nation’s Favourite Hero for his bravery he became the subject of TV documentaries, a successful author, businessman and an inspirational public speaker.
Hear his personal experience of The Falklands War and his subsequent triumph over adversity at The Roper Theatre, Hayesfield School, Bath, BA2 3LA at 7.30 pm.
