Steam Train Adventure organised by Sarah Sheridan

ROTARY CLUB of DORKING

BLUEBELL LINE, LUNCH at THE GRIFFIN at FLETCHING and SHEFFIELD PARK  and GARDEN (NT)

Tuesday 29th September 2015

Make your way to Sheffield Park Station in good time to catch the 11.00 train for a return trip to East Grinstead.  There is a museum to visit and locomotive sheds to explore so leave enough time for that!  Journey time Dorking to Sheffield Park Station is about an hour.

We will be back at Sheffield Park Station at about 12.40 when we then make our way to The Griffin at the nearby village of Fletching, which is less than 10 minutes drive away.  Here we will have lunch (included in the cost) of Sausage & Mash* and a vegetable followed by Eton Mess.  There is only limited parking at the pub but you may park in the High Street or in the village car park.  After lunch either come home or, if the weather is fine, take the opportunity to visit Sheffield Park and Garden, which is also nearby (about 5 minutes drive from The Griffin).  Sheffield Park is described as "a horticultural work of art with influences of Capability Brown and Humphrey Repton".  Tea may be obtained at Sheffield Park and Garden.

*Please advise of any dietary requirements.

COST £36 per person (includes train fare, lunch as described above and gratuity).  Sheffield Park belongs to the National Trust, the entrance charge for non National Trust members is £9.90.

Guests most welcome.
