Our three RYLA Candidatates Shannon Henderson, Mairi McHale both from Dalkeith High School and Jamie Henderson from George Watsons High School came to the club in August 2015 to give us a talk about their experience at the RYLA 2015 Boys & Girls Week at the Abernethy Trust Ardeonaig Outdoor Activity Centre.
ll the candidates gave a great presentation about their personal experience and what they got out of it. They all agreed that the week had given them a lot more confidence within themselves and enjoyed the experience of meeting new people. Shannon said "It was brutal, it was disgusting but I loved every minute of it"
Sheila Stewart was there to present the Bob Stewart Memorial trophy to both Mairi & Shannon from Dalkeith High School.
Allan Paterson, Youth Chair of Esk Valley Rotary presented a certificate, photograph and trophy to Shannon, Mairi and Jamie.
Dalkeith High School Head Teacher Allyson Dobson was also there to see the girls being presented with their awards.
Andy Ireland District 1020's DG attended the meeting and he thanked all
the RYLA Candidates for coming along and giving such great
presentations. Andy had visited the boys on their first day and also at
the end of the week during the change over between the boys and girls
week, and commented on how much the boys had gone from being very quite
on day one and being a lot more confident and part of a big team by day
seven. Andy presented President Mark with a banner with this years theme
