The annual trip for the patients and staff from St David’s Hospice, arranged by Ian Trevette took place this year on 4th September and was to Bodnant Gardens. Transport included 2 Bentleys owned by James Greenhalgh and Roger Marriott respectively as well as cars provided by the Rotarians
The party left the hospice at 1030 and arrived at the Pavilion Tea Rooms at the Gardens just before 1100, 'Elevenses were taken and the visitors left for their tour of the gardens etc. at 1130. The commentary for the extensive tour was provided by Dennis Reeve of the Conwy Valley Rotary Club
Luncheon was taken at 1300 and following a picture opportunity the party left for a drive via Tal y Cafn, Dolgarrog, stopping for a brief visit at the newly opened 'Surf Snowdonia' and then on to Betwys y Coed . The party arrived back at the hospice at 1615.
Bodnant was a new venue this year and had been specifically selected by the hospice staff. Ian received the thanks from the hospice staff on behalf of the patients who were highly delighted that people were prepared to give of their own time to provide them with such a splendid day out
