Waltham St Lawrence area
Our walk this month featured Pitlands Farm & Weycock High-road. A few of the regulars were “out of town”.
We started from the Royal Oak PH in Knowl Hill & did the walk in the reverse order from that shown in the map. A new challenge, successfully overcome.
According to the map you could see the tower at Canary Wharf on a clear day from one vantage point. But not today.
We walked the road the Romans walked & visited Waltham St Lawrence, owned in 1006 by Ethelred the Unready. Unlike the King we were suitably prepared. No cake but we had chocolate biscuits & boiled sweets.
Lunch at the Royal Oak. Another entry for Laurence’s Good Food Guide book.
The turkeys were looking forward to Christmas.
Thanks to Bob for organising.
