Over the Summer, the Club sponsored a local student, Victoria Hayman, in volunteering with the
charity, Education Partnerships Africa, at St Elizabeth Bumia Girls' Secondary School in Kenya's
Western Province.

On 15th September Victoria came to talk to us about the 10 weeks she spent there. She first consulted with local stakeholders to identify ways in which she could help at the school, and then spent her time investing £1800 in a mixture of learning and health-related projects. Examples were the installation of sinks in the science laboratory and the establishment of a mosquito net-lending scheme for the school's boarders. No changes were made to the school without the support of staff, students and the PTA, so hopefully there is buy-in for the future.

Victoria says that she is hugely grateful to the Rotary Club for sponsoring her work at the school.
