Supporting THHN

Club contributions in support of Torbay Holiday Helpers Network

The Charity known as Torbay Holiday Helpers Network (THHN) was founded by a Torquay Hotelier, Luke Tillen, in 2009.

It started in a small way him giving free holidays in his hotel to families who had suffered bereavements or severe illnesses, giving them the chance to get away for a break which they might not otherwise be able to afford.  So far over 750 have been provided.

Other hotels in the Bay and South Devon generally, also tourist attractions and businesses became involved to form a network and in recent years the charity has also raised sufficient funds to purchase a holiday chalet.

Our Club has been actively involved helping THHN since it started and a few years ago we purchased furniture for their office.

Not only have we raised money for them, but also assisted at various sponsored events, including Fun Runs and the City to Sea Marathon from Exeter to Torbay, by marshalling and providing a refreshment stop at St Pauls Church.

Various photos of presentations are shown, together with this year's on 04/12/2018.

Following our successful Golf Day, we donated £750 to the Charity and attached is a photograph showing their Director, Martin Brook, receiving our cheque from President Yvonne.

Luke Tillen has now stepped down, but we wish those involved with THHN every success and hope we can continue to support them.
