President for 2016/2017

Tue 14th June 2016 at 19.30 - 21.30

Handover at the AGM and Handover Meeting in June 2016. Outgoing President Sarah hands over to Verly Ives.

In June, the Rotary year changes and so does the presidency. During the meeting on Tuesday 14 June, current president Sarah Hiscocks handed over to the new president Verly Ives.  Sarah thanked the various members of the club for their commitment and hard work over the year, which both lead to the success of the ArtHouse café, and the youth and international projects that we support.  Sarah particularly thanked Peter King who is retiring from the club after several decades in which he has been a president and more recent the publicity officer, and Bob Stead who has been the café manager for the past year as a volunteer.

Verly and a number of other members recently visited our twinned club in Guingamp, France, where they celebrated 50 years of club friendship.  Verly’s speech of acceptance referenced her visit which has influenced her plans for the forthcoming year.  The main focus of the club will be membership, we hope that more people from the Melksham area would like to join us to enable more projects in the community and beyond. We will be promoting different kinds of membership including associate and corporate.  For more information about how you could get involved please email info@melkshamrotary.org
