"Hello everyone. Firstly, many thanks to all those Rotarians and partners who were able to spare some time to be at Asda, Morrisons and Budgens - 6 days were covered in all! Some were able to do extra shifts not least Fred who started each day and Philip and Fiona who finished each day - very well done to them. Also, we had Rachael from Rose Road and Chelle & Chris from Macmillan Support do a couple of slots.
Grateful thanks as well to John and Christine Brown who counted all the cash - a big job done as always so efficiently.
Now to the figures: total raised £4,551 to include Gift Aid. (Last year £4,067.) We were nearly £200 up in each of the larger stores before Gift Aid and nearly £100 at Budgens despite shorter hours. ( After Gift Aid this was Asda £1,725, Morrisons £2,391, Budgens £435.)
This is the eleventh year of collections and total now raised is £32,952.
This is the simplest way of raising money and we have to hope that the stores will have us again
and we have enough volunteers." Tony
Apologies for the scarcity of pictures. Everybody was so busy collecting and/or enjoying themselves that cameras and phones mainly stayed in pockets! If you have any more photos please send them to me. John R.
