Public-Speaking Competitions

Year 9 and Year 12 Competitions: Thursday March 8th – 3.00pm. The Library. County Upper Campus.

Primary School Competition: Thursday March 1st – 9.45 St Benedicst' Lower School. Each competition welcomes one team of 3 per school.  Details: Paul Rossi,  paul-rossi@supanet.com

March 18th Community Swimarathon

Swimarathon in support of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, CLIC Sargent, and Rotary Club Charity Fund. Hosted by the Abbeycroft Leisure Centre, 2.00-5.00pm.

Teams of four to six swimming to achieve as many lengths as possible in up to 45 minutes.  Teams invited from Schools/Colleges, Clubs, Societies and local businesses.  Details: Robert Davie 07576 880822 rdavie593@btinternet.com

April 24th ‘Service Above Self’ Awards Dinner & Presentations.  

Six BSE Rotary Club Awards, of books to the value of £60, to support future studies. We ask the Heads/Principals of each of the six local Upper schools/ Colleges to nominate a young person whom, in their view, is on their way to exemplifying the Rotary concept of ‘Service above Self’, given their age and the opportunities open to them.  Details: Robert Davie 07576 880822

September 1st- 8th Rotary Youth Leadership Awards

Held at Grafham Water Centre.

The Club regularly mentors two or three candidates from the local area to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards course run at Graham Water Centre. RYLA is designed to develop young people, age 18 – 26, as future community and business leaders.
