When Revd Jo Stephens addressed the latest meeting on 2nd February of Hucknall Rotary Club, she shared her journey with the members of how she first found the Christian faith as a young mum, of how she entered ministry and of how she became the vicar at Hucknall’s St Peter and St Paul’s Church.
Jo’s experiences have resulted in her forming a Church Youth Club reaching out to many troubled youngsters from the estate where the church is based. This has presented some challenges for the church but Rev. Jo is determined to reach out and show the love of Jesus which motivates her to others. This year also happens to be the 50th birthday of the church and various celebratary events are planned through the year. Rotarians also heard how the church has successfully launched the ‘West Hucknall Community Cinema Club’ with regular free screenings for all people and organisations who become members of the cinema club. The cinema itself offers a full 15ft HD screen with surround sound experience.
President Kevin Rostance thanked Revd. Jo Stephens for all the work she was doing for the community of Hucknall.
