Rotarian Ann Syrett PHF from the British Virgin Islands is to address the club at lunchtime on Tuesday, 12th April 2016.

We are looking forward to welcoming Ann (nee Yancey) with her husband Tony Syrett, during her upcoming visit to the District during April. Ann was the earliest Rotary Scholar to spend a study year at Keele University and she came to Keele from Astoria, Oregon, USA, together with Bruce Barton from South Africa in 1973-74.

Ann became a US Diplomat serving the US State Department in many parts of the world until her retirement some five years ago. She last visited the district 15 years ago and she comes to us as a very active Rotarian in the Rotary Club Sunrise of Road Town, British Virgin Islands.

In recent correspondence Ann said “I really like the idea of coming back, full circle, to your Club almost 43 years on and letting them know the impact their generosity had on my life.  The biggest challenge will not be choking when I tell them”.
