Barrow-in-Furness Food Bank
Tue 2nd February 2016 at 10.10 - 10.10
Students from Cartmel Priory Church-of-England School donate food to the Barrow Food Bank.
Grange CE Primary School
On Tuesday 2nd February the School Council, Rotakids and Pupil Parliament donated food and items to help the people of Barrow who need to use the food bank. We donated 76 kg of food which will provide meals for 31 families. We were shown around the food bank by Alison, a dedicated volunteer, she also let us date, sort and pack the items ready for a family to take away the following day. We enjoyed learning about the set up of the food bank and we talked about the feelings and emotions that people go through when using the service. Thank you to Rtn.Ken Thompson from the Rotary Club for helping us organise the visit, to Cartmel Priory School for lending us the minibus and to our teachers Mrs Jamieson and Mrs Whinfield for taking us.
