Soo Neverson from Voluntary Action Calderdale is visiting the club to talk about what she does


Our weekly meeting at The Sportsmans Inn, Greetland where we have a 2 course meal with coffee and an after dinner speaker. This week Soo Neverson from Voluntary Action Calderdale is visiting to talk to the club about her role. 

 

Voluntary Action Calderdale (VAC) has provided infrastructure support to its local communities since 2000; they have operated from our own premises since 2006. During our history, we have delivered a wide a range of successful projects, via a variety of funders, to support the voluntary and community sector (VCS) in the Borough of Calderdale.

Their purpose is to improve the lives of the citizens of Calderdale by supporting our users through the provision of:

  • Exceptional funding support;
  • Vibrant volunteering opportunities;
  • High quality organisational development opportunities;
  • Energetic communication channels;
  • Partnership and linkage opportunities, and by;
  • Raising the strategic voice of the sector and communities

Dr Soo Nevison has been Chief Officer at Voluntary Action Calderdale since September 2006. She has worked in the VCS for as long as she can remember, beginning as a volunteer when she was student. Soo is committed to local voluntary and community action and sees NAVCA as a vital part of the mechanism in achieving better outcomes for local communities.
