Robotic milking in Denbighshire

Forward thinking Denbighshire farmer Bryn Roberts with Rotarian Dilwyn Evans who organised the visit

The evening started out with a site visit to Pontruffydd Farm, near Bodfari to see the latest automated milking equipment. Farmer Bryn Roberts, who very kindly accommodated us at his farm has invested heavily  in state of the art computerized kit. He has four Lely Astronaut units, each capable of miking  65 cows up to 4 times daily without a human in sight!

More than 20 Rotarians made the trip, and all (even the farmers) were amazed at the technoledgy. We were pleased to invite Bryn afterwards to our meal at Brookhouse where he was thanked by Tim. We also welcomed for the evening Richard Hughes, Borth.
