1,000 Trees planted to celebrate 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth

On Sunday 3rd April the Rotary Club of Bradford Blaize together with the assistance and guidance of the Forest of Bradford group completed the planting of 1,000 trees at Cold Well Farm, Wilsden. The first part of this planting had taken place in November when a halt had to be called on the project after about 400 trees had been planted owing to the vile weather on the day.

Alan Morrell organised this to celebrate the Queens 90th birthday and we provided both the labour and funds to carry out the tree planting.

Members of the club and the one rotarian's wife gave up their Sunday morning and braved the weather to plant the trees.

The trees planted have been specially chosen to prosper on the site of Cold Well Farm.

In recent years this Rotary Club have planted over 3,000 trees in Bradford hopefully to help the district be a pleasanter and greener place.
