The Rotary Bring and Buy Plant sale in The Croft

The plant sale was a great success.

We were very lucky to have a sunny day for this years plant sale. But as always with these events it was the efforts of the team that made the day so successful. A huge thanks to James and Louise for providing the excellent venue. Our logistics team of Mike, Tony, David Howard and David Small made sure that tables and chairs were moved smoothly between Chilton Foliat and Hungerford and again it's all praise to Roger King for providing and driving the van. What would we do without him? Hugh joined the team for unloading and arranging which James directed with his normal aplomb. Of course the girls were the backbone of the operation. Our experts Louise, Lois, Judy and Yvonne were on hand to price up the plants as well as provide information and advice to the customers. I also spotted some great salesmanship!  Jacqui and Angela, the checkout girls, did an excellent job taking the money and welcoming the customers. David Heather was in charge of point of sale graphic media (Laminated display boards) and he also showed his sales prowess by persuading people to enter the silent auction for two  huge Terracotta pots donated to our sale by "Garden Art". We must not forget Richard who sold lots of cups tea, coffee and many slices of cake provided by Yvonne, Louise, Angela and Winnie King. At the end of the morning there was hardly a crumb left! Thanks to everybody that came along to support the team. What can be better than a morning spent  in the sun, drinking tea and coffee eating cake while chatting with friends and making lots of money for our chosen charities. In fact at the end of the day we raised over £1,000.00 profit. £200.0 of which came from a very generous donation to the sale from Keith. A massive thanks to all of you. A very enjoyable day with a very rewarding outcome. Llyn.
