CLUB WELCOMES NEW MEMBER

President Brian welcomed Susan Henderson as the newest member of the club at the lunch meeting on 5 December.

Susan, the owner of The Poplars Hotel, Moulton, was born in Hertfordshire to Irish parents who were hoteliers and publicans in Ireland and London.  As with most children whose parents have their own business, Susan worked hard from an early age in her parents' pubs and hotels. There were no strict laws on child labour in their household!

Susan worked her way up the financial ladder in London for over 20 years, and had a very successful career as a Partner in the financial services sector in the city.  After that time Susan decided on a huge career change, and started planning her retirement from Finance. 

In 2013 Susan spent a year travelling around the country, trying to find what she thought would be the perfect business.  The Poplars was the very first place that she viewed, and after further consideration throughout the year, she bought it.  Susan likes the Moulton area so much that she has moved her mother up to be in the same village.  She loves the community spirit in Moulton and wanted to become part of a group that gave something back, which is why she approached our club
