Club to give illustrated dictionaries to Ossett Year 2 primary school pupils
Dictionary 4 Life
This year the Rotary Club of Ossett have purchased nearly 300 dictionaries.
At the end of the school year, and in association with Education Ossett Community Trust [EOCT], Club President Graham Scott and President-Elect June Drysdale will give each Year 2 primary pupil an Illustrated Usborne Dictionary to take home and use throughout their educational development.
The Schools involved in this project are South Parade Primary School; Towngate Primary School; Holy Trinity C of E [VA] Primary School; South Ossett Infants Academy; Flushdyke Junior and Infants School; Gawthorpe Community Academy; Dimple Well Infant School and Highfield School.
Ossett Rotary Club have raised the funds to pay for these dictionaries by various local events. The Rotary Club of Ossett would like to thank the community for its continued generous support.
Sarah Haigh, EOCT Co-ordinator said “We are really pleased with how our relationship with the Rotary Club of Ossett has developed over the last 12 months, the club is wholly committed to supporting the development and education of young people in Ossett. The presentation of the dictionaries marks a significant time in the lives of our students when they move from infants to juniors. We look forward to our close working relationship continuing and to the future development of projects together”.
