On Wednesday 1st June it was the Special General Meeting and the Assistant District Governor Antoune Holmes was in attendance.Antoune is a member of the Scunthorpe Club and said  that we were moving into a new district but all regional meetings would be held in York. The emphasis would by on fun  and enjoyment of Rotary. The clubs in North Lincolnshire wanted to get together with the clubs in our area perhaps socially or to have a competition .

President Elect Mike Quickfall began the Special General Meeting  by addressing the club.He said that we needed to explore other means of raising money now that we did not have access ,at the moment, to the Dock Tower and a small fund raising group has been formed.

His chosen charities are the Hospice,Sea Cadets and the John Nidd Diabetic Fund.Mike informed us of the fixed  events  such as  charter ,garden party  and  the fifth Wednesdays.

As the Convenors were away their  reports were read out  ie Club service/membership and international .For the latter we were told that the Nohari (India) project was completed and that we would be working to provide a source of drinking water in Tanzania .

The Assistant District Governor ,in his reply, noted our projects for the future. He said that their club was interested in helping the refugees  from Syria by providing a container to act as a classroom, may be we would work together on that issue?
