Business Lunch Meeting

Fri, Oct 21st 2016 at 12:55 pm - 2:10 pm

No speaker this week

Rotary club of Stirling meeting of 21/10/16.

President Alan Rankin welcomed members to a business meeting. There were
no visitors.

Colin Bayes reported that the permits allowing members to drive the
Arion bus were almost complete and it was hoped to restart transporting
handicapped children to the swimming pool in the very near future. This
has taken rather a long time as the regulations have become more
complicated.  Derek Anderson reported that arrangements for our heat of
the primary school quiz is progressing, with the final to be held in
Aberdeen in mid June 2017.

Reporting back on last week's council meeting, President Alan asked for,
and received, the club's approval for several charitable donations.
Treasurer Edmond Mansion had provided copies of the club's balance
sheet, and the funds were seen to be in good order.  Secretary Sandy
Farquharson intimated a special AGM on 11/11/16.

Arrangements for a charity walk, probably along the Fife Way, next May
were reviewed. It was thought that some of the stages were rather long,
so, this was referred back for further consideration.  There are now five
candidates for interview to take part in next year’s Euro scholar
conference.  Martin Ross is looking for candidates to attend next year’s
RYLA camp, one of the projects highlighted by the DG at last weeks
meeting.  Robin Sutton told us that our website is now fully integrated
with the district website.

The speaker at next week's meeting will be this year's RYLA student.
Speaker's host on 28/10/16 Martin Ross, visitor's host Stewart Wilson.
