RYLA Weekends at White Hall Education Centre

Twice a year Rotary District 1220 (includes all Derbyshire Rotary Clubs) organises a youth leadership and team-building weekend at White Hall Centre, Buxton and at Castleton Rotary Centre. Buxton Rotary Club has sponsored local students to the White Hall Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) weekends for many years, usually a minimum of four students per year.

However, when helped by external funding such as awards, corporatre sponsorship, or grants, we can send more students, achieveing eleven students for one Weekend from Buxton Community, St Thomas More and Chapel High Schools.

Student on our RYLA weekends enthusiastically tackle RYLA challenges and make many new friends. RYLA activities help young people understand how important leadership and working in a team are, and include caving, canoeing, raft building and climbing.

See a short video of from our Facebook Page about some of their activities.
