Club members please log in for more information.

The Community Committee of Torrington Rotary works on mainly local projects aimed at supporting those who live in our town and surrounding villages.

During the last 2 years we've completed various projects-   installing another  new defibrillator on the Tarka Trail, providing new seating for Torrington Library,  helping fund the new hanging baskets in the Pannier Market and new plants in Sidney House gardens and we've made many donations to local charities, such as Men's Sheds and the Foodbank.  We've donated over £500,000 since our club first started.

Our club also decided to say 'thank you' to the staff of our NHS surgeries and community hospital in Torrington with the presentation of 3 huge hampers of goodies... ranging from gift vouchers and toiletries to Easter eggs and other yummy consumables... you can read about this in the side panel article.

During 2023 we also knitted woolly hats for newborn Ukrainian babies (over 1800 were delivered), we raised over £1300 for RNLI at a quiz and over £1000 for the Bickford Centre renovations at our July 'Open Gardens' event held in conjunction with Torrington in Bloom and RHS Rosemoor.

President Linda Facey visited Langtree Primary School to promote Rotary's worldwide campaign to eradicate polio  (see photo).  She delivered crocus corms, compost and a planter made by Torrington Men's Shed for the pupils to plant spring bulbs, in aid of 'Purple for Polio'.  Rotarian Martyn Butler also visited Dolton and Clinton Primary Schools, Great Torrington School and Bluecoats Primary.... see the adjacent article.  To date, with donations and match funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, we've raised over £1280 this year for the campaign.
