Meeting of 13th Jan 2017.
President Allan Rankin welcomed members to a business meeting reporting on the Club Council meeting of 9/1/17. In the past week President Alan has represented the club at Inner Wheel, Probus ladies lunch and presented our donation to the Arion swimming club. Treasurer Edmond Mansion presented the club accounts which were approved by the members.
Stirling Rotary club won the Wylkedin golf trophy for the third successive year and the prize money arising will go to Castleview school. Having won, the club has to organise this year's event and Jim Kerr has agreed to take this on. The meeting also approved donations to Prostate cancer Scotland, William Simpson home and Stirling Food train, which provides a service to the elderly taking orders for shopping, doing the shopping and delivering the goods to the housebound. The Fife coast charity walk will be on 18th June, when drivers as well as walkers will be needed, and we will have our usual stand at Gardening Scotland over the first weekend in June. We plan to arrange visits to Castleview school, and Cornton Vale prison. This year we have four candidates for our two places to attend the RYLA camp.
Our next meeting is on 20th January, Speaker's host Frank Kelly, Visitor's host Peter Mehta. For further info www.stirling.rotary1010.org
