This evening, the Rotary Club of Motherwell and Wishaw hosted a German evening, celebrating the town's twin town arrangements over many years. The guest speaker for the evening was Consul General Jens-Peter Voss of Germany. Mr Voss can list among his previous appointments:
· First Secretary, economics, Copenhagen Embassy, Denmark
· Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs
· Deputy head of economics department, Rome Embassy, Italy
· Counsellor, Head of Trade Promotion Office, Peking Embassy, China
· Deputy head of mission, Pyongyang Embassy, DPR Korea
· Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Haïti, Port-au-Prince Embassy
· Consul General, Shenyang, PR China
The breadth of experience in international relations provided members with an excellent insight to economic affairs, international development and European developments.
The meeting was supported by the Brauhaus Brass band playing a range of German music while the meal included Bratwurst, wine and beer.
