New Rotary President
Man of Steele takes the helm
At Aberfeldy and District Rotary Club’s recent club assembly, John Steele took over the role of President for the new Rotary year. John thanked outgoing President Eric Slorance for his leadership and huge contribution to the efficient running and development of the Club during his year in Presidential office. In announcing his council team and main objectives for the 2017/18 Rotary year, John said, ‘I am absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to lead Aberfeldy and District Rotary Club in what I’m sure will be an exciting and challenging year for the Club. We have a busy schedule of activities ahead, including our major fund raising initiative the Highland Perthshire Marathon and Half Marathon taking place on Saturday 2nd September. It is set to be a fantastic weekend event for the area, and all made possible by the tremendous help and support we receive from so many local organisations and individuals in the community.’
During his year as President, John is keen to help promote the good charitable work carried out by Rotary both worldwide and locally, and to encourage new membership. He is particularly keen to support local charities and the many good causes in the community.
