There was an excellent turnout of Rotarians and guests at tonight’s meeting of the Rotary Club of Motherwell and Wishaw which was the Handover Dinner and Partners' Evening.
President Jane Allan opened the evening before welcoming the Inner Wheel President, Gloria Agnew, who brought greetings from the Inner Wheel Club of Motherwell and Wishaw.
Another guest, bringing greetings to the club, was Assistant District Governor, Theresa Douglas, who congratulated the Club on our successes over the years. She went on to say that she was sure that our new Assistant District Governor, Brenda Waugh, would be looking forward to working closely with the Club's new president, James Gibbons.
President Jane reviewed her presidential year before handing over her chain of office to President James Gibbons who took the opportunity to go over his plans and aspirations for his year as president. President James then presented I.P.P. Jane with her Past President's Jewel before inducting the Club’s office-bearers and convenors for Rotary year 2016-17.
The entertainment for the evening was provided by Octave, a well-known, local, singing group who raise funds for charity. They were superb with a very varied programme and excellent harmonies.
