Our club has helped the Rotary Club of Pune Central perform Corneal Transplants and Cleft Lip Palate surgery through the matching grant programme.  This extract is taken from their club newsletter of 25 June 2005.

Valedictory Function — Matching Grants

It’s time for celebrations. Over 2000+ people get their eye sight restored; Lives of little children transformed, many cataract surgeries performed and what our club has done could go on andon, under Matching Grant projects 2004-05.

Helping our effort in very big way, the Volkart Foundation gave us 7 Lakhs during 2004-05 and our grant for next year 2005-06 to the tune of 3.5 Lakhs has just been announced.

Rtn. Manjula speaks to you about special Cleft Lip/Palate Surgery that transformed life of little children; not one or two — 113 of them during this year.

Fun packed 45 minutes capsule brings ycu songs, dance, a powerpoint presentation ably arranged by Rtn. Avinash Gore and his team.You will learn about CorneaI Donation Awareness Programme from Ms. Chaitrali loamdar and two counselors who are working at Ruby Hall to help collect more corneal tissues. You will see some corneal transplants recipients as well.

Children from Moledina Primary School, where we have completed 3 projects will perform an Umbrella Dance and a "Thank You Pune Central" dance item.

Your will enjoy the opening song by our Rtn. Dr. Shekhar Kulkarni and to make you all swing Rashmi Soparkar - will lead you to a dance sequence entitled YMCA — You and Me Can Achieve.
