Latest Information Brochure available
Our latest information brochure is now available. Look out for it at all of our events.
Our Club gives you the opportunity to take action on important issues affecting our community, our nation and the world. We also have a lot of fun whether we are socialising or working together on projects.
Members meet once a week for a meal at the Sykeside Hotel, Haslingden, followed by either a business meeting or to listen to speakers on a variety of topics.
Together we make things happen. We have a structure that focuses on action and positive results.
ABOUT US & THE PROJECTS WE SUPPORT
For 84 years the Rotary Club of Rossendale has found the members, the dedication, the time and the funding to enable the Club to make a positive contribution to the local community and to the wider world. We make donations to organisations such as Rossendale Hospice, Macmillan Nurses and the Alzheimer’s Society.
We support and help finance the White Horse Youth Project in Waterfoot, Primary School Projects to improve the educational experience for their pupils and youngsters applying for courses that will better their education.
We provide birthday parcels for those reaching eighty and we aim to support groups catering for the older members in the community.
On the international front we provide money for polio vaccinations to rid the world of this horrible crippling disease and whenever there is a disaster overseas we help finance the provision of tents and equipment to improve water supplies and sustain life.
Where does the money come from for supporting these schemes?
Over the years the Club has raised funds, with the assistance of the local Rossendale Community and from special events run by the Rotary Club of Rossendale. Eg Christmas Carol Concert, Round the Hills Walk and Father Christmas Sleigh collection and various local fairs.
WHY DON’T YOU COME AND SEE IF YOU CAN BE PART OF OUR FUTURE EFFORTS?
Tor View School in Haslingden has installed a roundabout which for the first time can be used by children in wheelchairs. This was made possible by a donation from Rotary.
