Truck Festival 2016

Witney Rotary Club Pig Roast is a hit with Festival go-ers as the Club makes it's first appearance at a Music Festival.

With 10,000 Festival-goers attending Truck Festival 2016 for three days, on a site near the vilage of Steventon, customers were plentiful and hungry. Many accepted the invitation to sample the Pork Rolls on sale by a team of Witney Rotarians, Partners and Friends.

Witney Rotary Club attended 'Truck'  for the first time with their trade-mark Pig Roast. The event presented a major logistical challenge, arranging for a regular supply of Roast Pork, nearly a ton was consumed over the weekend, plus staffing for three days and taking place only one week after the club's other major event of the year - Witney Carnival, The task looked nigh on impossible.. This could have been an event too far, but not so. A total  of 47 Rotarians and helpers worked together to make the venture a success.

Why were we at 'Truck' near Abingdon?

The simple answer is "to raise funds" which in turn will be used to finance the many charitable projects outlined elsewhere on this Website, and also enable the club to search out new areas where we may assist those less fortunate.
