As a result of a highly successful open evening held in Melville Castle Hotel, the Rotary Club of Esk Valley has attracted seven new members to the club. The introduction of these new members will see the total membership of the club rise by over a third to thirty.
To celebrate such a substantial increase in membership, District Governor Steven Henderson, who is in charge of Rotary clubs throughout Central Scotland, came along to personally present the new members with their Rotary badges and certificates.
Esk Valley Rotary has a wide range of members, both female and male, covering many different professions, and this diversity is seen as one of its main attractions. It also has a younger age profile than many other Rotary Clubs, and deliberately has a more informal approach. All members are encouraged to play an active role within the club, which encourages free and wide debates on all aspects.
It organises an extensive range of activities each year, all of which combine enjoyable social aspects with raising funds for needy causes.
