President Mark welcomed 26 members to Tuesday's lunchtime meeting of the Club where Club numbers were further increased by the induction of Shamshad Adams and Craig McNab who were warmly welcomed into the Club.
Also congratulated were the very active young Rotary Interacters of Kirkcaldy High School whose bag packing had raised £811.10 for their chosen charity, the food bank. Interacters will also be helping shortly with the Rotary children's party. As with many groups in the town Rotarians will be very active in the period up to Christmas.
At a very brief Special General Meeting Dallas Mechan was confirmed as the Club President for the 2017/ 2018 Rotary Year, as was Sharon Munro as Secretary and Bill Stewart as Treasurer.
Although the Cow appears to have recovered very successfully from the surgery on her legs a Pig has also now also appeared, prepared to take over the money-collecting duties. Council has still to decide how this rivalry is resolved.
Having noticed that the Secretary referred to Mr Munro as “hubby” in a recent official communication Mr Magill enquired if were all to select nicknames we were prepared to see used and whether these would be printed in due course in the club handbook.
Members were reminded that the half hour “seated yoga” sessions would start next Tuesday at 12 o'clock prompt.
The speaker would be the strongly recommended Ewan McDonnell giving his postponed talk on the latest news of the new Forth Bridge. Another date to note is that Tuesday 20th December will be a Ladies' Day and Bryan's Christmas address
